Spotify xfinity wifi local file download

The NAME of the playlist is there, but the songs are not. Thus I cannot download them. If I create a playlist with 10 songs, 5 from Spotify and 5 local, only the 5 from Spotify will show up on my iPhone. And the download option will be visible for those 5 To re-state what I said earlier. I'm on the same Wifi network. Spotify is running on my desktop.

On the iphone I'm using the desktop as the playback device. The songs are m4a and will play just fine when I play them using the desktop app. But if I add those songs to a playlist, they do not show in that playlist when you view it on the phone. They are in the playlist when viewed on the desktop. Anyone have a suggestion? Still having this issue.

I've downloaded the files on my desktop app which seems rather stupid, they're local files, why would I need to download them? None of the songs are visible there. OK, I finally got this to work. The problem apparently was the wifi network. As a recap, here's the process: Premium only. Simple enough, right? The first problem I had was with the local songs.

Some of them were m4p and couldn't be played. OK, fine, can't really blame Spotify for that. Did some research, found out Apple Music Match would let me download the m4a's and did that. Then I created a playlist with the local songs as well as some from Spotify.

I have WIndows 10 and Android. I went into Windows Firewall, opened up advanced settings, went to inbound rules, and found two spotify. What most likely is happening is that there was a recent update to either windows or spotify that doesn't allow spotify from your phone to tell your computer to allow it to download from the computer, even though it knows which files you have in the playlist.

This is actually a true security issue, but you could always set the blocks back up after you finish downloading. It might be that some of the people experiencing problems with the local syncing have disabled dependencies in the sytem configuration that prevents spotify from relate wireless data windows 7,8,8,1.

Lazy option - Go to 'General' check 'Normal Startup' box all device drivers and services - Apply and restart. Specific option - Go to 'Services' If you previously have disable various services, you can try simply 'Enable all' and restart. If you want to find the specific process, I suggest you look for a wireless related service that might be disabled and enable it.

Make sure all your firewall settings are correct as stated in this post, apply these configurations changes, restart the computer and then try syncing. The solution for me was that there was a frozen spotify running on one of my computers. After killing it off and rebooting that computer, I was able to sync on my mobile device. So it wasn't the limit of number of songs that can be synched, not the limit of 3 devices that can be synched - it was a dodgy spotify app running mad on one of my Mac's on my network.

All I had to do was kill it and reboot. Spotify won't sync local files to iphone Solved! Go to solution. All forum topics Previous Topic Next Topic. Spotify won't sync local files to iphone. Allowed UPnP through my router.

Still wouldn't do. Then I realize the problem might be with my wifi. I don't have access to the reuter settings, it is a Xfinity wifi. So as above suggested, I turn on the mobile hotspot on my phone, and connect my PC to it. I have to also turn on "download using cellular" in spotify app setting. Then wait for a few seconds and I can finally download the local files on PC to my phone.

Community Legend. Make sure that Windows shows your network as private and not public. Set exceptions for spotify in any firewall or internet security programme. Check that you haven't already hit the limit of 3, downloads per device or 9, downloads across all devices. If you are using a wifi network outside of your home, there is every chance that the protocols used by spotify for downloading are blocked.

Any other ideas? I did also check my network and it does say private. Post Reply.
